FUNDRAISERS

Each year, our chapter sponsors several fundraising events to generate funds that are used to further our Guide Right and Social Action/Community Outreach efforts. Below is a list of the fundraising events that the chapter currently sponsors:

NEW YEAR'S EVE GALA

There is no better way to ring in the new year than with the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Alexandria-Fairfax and Hyattsville/Landover Alumni Chapters are continuing a long tradition of presenting the classiest New Year's Eve Gala in the Washington Metropolitan Area at the Washington Renaissance Hotel.

Unlike other Galas, our event begins earlier in the day with activities that last throughout the night. You start the day early by checking into a luxurious room at the Renaissance Hotel. The festivities begin when you join the Brothers at their Hospitality suites to enjoy the spirits of the season and light hors d'oeuvres. Later that evening you can enjoy a Kappa reception with music, line dance instruction and heavy hors d'oeuvres.

The Gala begins at 9:00 p.m. in the Main Ballroom. The room will be decorated with balloons, party favors, and all the glitter for a New Year's Eve Gala. The air will be filled with the musical sounds of a live band for your listening and dancing pleasure.

After the champagne toast at midnight, a sumptuous breakfast buffet will be served. The dancing in the Main Ballroom continues until 2:00 a.m., and then……the After Parties kick-off for those that enjoy late night fun. A Jazz Quartet begins playing at 2:00 a.m. in the Renaissance Lounge and a DJ will be spinning your favorite hits in the Congressional Ballroom. Both events ending about 5:00 a.m.!!! You can party 'till you drop and then safely take the elevator home (to your luxurious room in the hotel).

Tickets go quick for this event, so make sure you check the website in the August/September timeframe for ticket sales information.

BOWLING PARTY

"Bowling with the Brothers" is not just about bowling, but about having some good ole' fashion fun!! It doesn't matter if you are a bowler or not, you can come out and enjoy the great atmosphere with lots of fun people and plenty of Old Skool and New Skool sounds from the DJ.

KAPPA NIGHT AT THE UNIVERSOUL CIRCUS

HIP HOP under the BIG TOP!!! Each year our chapter sponsors Kappa Night at the UniverSoul. If you have ever been to a UniverSoul Circus show, you know the our Kappa Night is a big hit.
