SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
Each year, the Hyattsville/Landover (MD) Alumni Chapter
awards scholarships to assist minority students in their goal
of pursuing Achievement in higher education. The scholarships
are restricted to minority students currently enrolled in high
school in Prince George's County, Maryland. The scholarships
are also available to minority undergraduate college students
who are residents of Prince George's County, Maryland, but are
enrolled in institutions located throughout the United States.
In addition, students enrolled in Prince George's Community
College are also eligible. The scholarships are primarily
directed toward minority males, however, all minority students
may apply. The scholarship application period is between
January 1st and April 15th of each year.

Selection Criteria Application
Twice a year, the Scholarship Committee sponsors a
Financial Aid/Scholarship Workshop in conjunction with our SAT
Workshop. Parents and students attending the Financial
Aid/Scholarship Workshop will receive valuable information on
navigating through the financial aid process and information
on how to begin the scholarship search
process.
The Kappa Alpha Psi
Foundation of Maryland, Incorporated provides funding for
our scholarships, as well as our Male Enhancement and
Community Service initiatives. The Foundation is a nonprofit
charitable entity that has been granted tax-exempt status by
the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501 (C)(3)
organization. The Foundation is an affiliate of the
Hyattsville/Landover (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Incorporated. Donations to the Foundation can be
made through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) #7050.
