SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
Selection for scholarships will be based on the criteria
listed below:
- All scholarship applicants shall have a minimum cumulative
grade point average equivalent to 2.5 on a 4.0 grade point
system (appropriate documentation is required for grade
and SAT scores).
- All scholarship applicants are required to complete an
essay of 500 words or more on the "Meaning of Achievement"
and forward it, along with the application, to the scholarship
committee, postmarked no later than April 15th for that
scholarship year.
- All applicants are also required to submit three letters
of recommendation from school, a community organization,
or a place of employment.
- Each applicant may be subject to an interview, and if
so, will be informed by fax, mail or telephone. Nothing
in these guidelines shall prevent a student from being considered
more than once for a scholarship.
Winners will be notified and the awards will be presented
at our annual Awards Achievement Ceremony held in May.
All scholarship winners shall receive notice when funds are
disbursed. The funds will be disbursed to the institution
in the student's name, once documentation is received by the
committee that the student is enrolled and attending the institution.
The committee decisions are final.
